Queer Sports Alliance Melbourne (QSAM) will unveil its new logo and banner on August 17 as it re-launches itself as Team Melbourne in the lead up to the 3rd World Outgames in Antwerp next year.

QASM/Team Melbourne is an umbrella group made up of LGBTI sporting clubs and individuals.

Team Melbourne president Malcolm Campbell said the new name would make it easier for teams when travelling abroad.

“We were formerly known as Queer Sports Alliance Melbourne but when we travelled to overseas gay sporting events, no one knew who we were or where we were from,” he said.

Team Melbourne meetings have also moved to a new venue following the closure of the Also Foundation office at the City Village.

Meetings will now be held at The Peter Knight Centre, Claremont St, South Yarra.

The organisation’s re-launch party is at the GH from 7pm on August 17. INFO: www.queersportsmelbourne.org
