Sydney’s drag awards night of night, the DIVA Awards, has again sparkled with the glamor and celebration honouring all those who tirelessly, week on week, not only frock up and entertain the community, but contribute in some way to the drag scene. Held at the UNSW Roundhouse, the sell-out event was evidently cleaned up by the beautiful Charisma Belle who was named Sydney’s Favourite, Miss Congeniality as well as Bitch of the Year, with the drag star laying down her success to her good luck charm – her mum. However, perhaps the stand-out moment of the night belonged to this years DIVA Hall of Fame winner Claire DeLune whose best friend Verushka Darling re-capped the 20-plus year friendship that the two had shared while dressed in drag.
