ACON Illawarra – lesbians go online

The next UNITY Diner’s Club will be held on Tuesday, April 19 at Costa Azzurra Woodfire Restaurant, 17 Princes Hwy, Fairy Meadow, 7pm.

RSVPs are essential to the UNITY mobile at least 24 hours prior in order to confirm the booking. UNITY can be contacted on 0403 899 015.

REAL (Respecting Equality Amongst Lesbians) will join women from around the state on Thursday, April 14 in the first of a series of real-time forums hosted online by community groups through the Byte By Byte project.

This workshop is a great opportunity to connect with other rural and regional lesbians, exchange information and interact in an online learning community. You can do this from the comfort of your own home or meet up with friends and/or your lesbian community group. This first session is titled ‘What is a healthy relationship?’

You can access Byte By Byte sessions in real time, or register to watch and listen to recordings at a later date. This online platform allows those in remote areas without high speed internet access to sessions.

RSVP to [email protected] to check system requirements and find out how to get involved in Byte By Byte. To contact REAL and find out about their other events, call 0431 887 770 or email [email protected]

WAGS (Wollongong Area Gays) is a social group for gay and bisexual men in the Illawarra. The group meets on the first and third Saturday of every month from 7-9.30pm at the ACON Illawarra Community Space. After several years of facilitating this group, we would like to extend a special thank you to Glenn for all his time and effort.

We also welcome and thank the two new facilitators, Alan and Steven, as they take up the baton to carry the group into the future. Call 02 4226 1163 for more information about getting involved.
