After the Ball is over

After the Ball is over

What a night! We hope that everyone who came along to the Black & White Ball had a great time.  Big thanks to the amazingly talented entertainers, volunteers and all those that helped make the night such a success.  We didn’t raise as much for our charities this year, but considering we were up against so many other events we are still very happy with the outcome.

The next thing on our calendar is our Annual General Meeting (AGM).  This gives members the chance to hear what the committee has been doing over the last year, check out our financial situation and vote on upcoming proposals. The major proposal for members to vote on at the AGM is the new constitution. A lot of work has been put in to create our own constitution rather than just making amendments to the standard model rules. A soft copy was sent to all members recently however they can also view the draft document on the DOB website.

As no positions were contested there was no need for a vote on the committee but the night is a great chance to chat with the new and returning committee members and let them know how you feel. We will also be voting on our charities for the upcoming year so this is your chance to put forward your suggestions.

The AGM will be held upstairs at Club Five Dock RSL on Great Northern Rd, Five Dock on Saturday 20th August from 7pm. There will nibbles provided and I will be showing The Year That Was video – my collection of photos from the past year’s DOB events to embarrass all and sundry.

A club is only as strong as its members and we need members to be active in the club. We would appreciate seeing you at the AGM and hearing your voice – remember it’s your club so come along and have your say. Non-members are also welcome to attend.

Until then, ride safe and sexy!
