WHAT’S ON (Melbourne): Marriage equality rally
IT is now Melbourne’s turn to stand up and be heard and rally for a free vote on marriage equality.
The rally will take place at the State Parliament House steps on Spring St this Saturday, June 13 from 2.30pm.
Organised by Australian Marriage Equality, with senior federal MPs from the major political parties invited to speak, the event is expected to attract over 5000 people.
The purpose of the rally is to demonstrate bipartisan support for a free vote on marriage equality to occur in Federal Parliament by the end of the year.

Support the Star Observer… while you still can
LGBTQIA+ media is under threat. Queer content is censored by tech conglomerates who amplify bigotry and push out AI slop — so we receive less financial support than ever.
When our community is muzzled and intolerance intensifies, we need queer media more than ever. Your donation means we can continue paying queer journalists to write queer news.
Don’t rely on the straight lies of big tech – support Star Observer instead and donate now.

Dave Davis was a joke along with his colleague Margaret…
No passion and clueless about the vibe at the rally
Soooooo boring and dumb on their behalf
That’s not the Melbourne I know at all!
Better quality of politicians from the right please!.
