Kings do their part for charity
DIVA Award-winning drag king Hans Sparrow will come out of retirement for a special Mardi Gras event to raise funds for sufferers of endometriosis.
On February 25, 14 of Sydney’s finest drag kings will come together for a night of entertainment which is being billed as “a lesbo’s wet dream”, according to organiser Natasha Hill.
Other kings taking to the stage at the Red Rattler on the night will include Rocco D’Amore, Steph(en) Sands, Mista Meanor, Leo De’Lush and Mytee Max — a veritable cornucopia of fake moustaches which will be kept expertly under control by that ultimate femme fatale, Shauna Jensen.
Money raised will go towards funding research into endometriosis, a disease which causes uterine tissue to form in other parts of the female body. Although the condition affects an estimated 10 percent of women worldwide, relatively little is known about the condition which causes considerable pain and has no known cure.
