Trans man wins Mr Queensland Leather for first time

A TRANS man has taken the title of Mr Queensland Leather for the first time, and will go compete in the upcoming Mr International Leather in Chicago.

Maximus, from Harvey Bay, beat four other contestants to win the competition earlier this month, held in Brisbane’s BootCo club.

He said he was very proud to be not only part of the community but to earn the title of Mr Queensland Leather.

“It has been a tremendous experience to be a competitor amongst such fine men in the Mr Queensland Leather Competition for 2014,” he said.

“As a man of trans descent who has gained so much from the community I have experienced at Bootco, and the new friends I have met living in leather, it made me proud to see the many ways our leather men are contributing to the community and living the lifestyle.”

Maximus is the also first trans man to have entered the Mr Queensland Leather competition.

Also awarded titles on the night were Mathew Moriarty for Queensland Leather Boy, Sym Puskaric taking out Queensland Leather Daddy, while Dingo was awarded Queensland Leather Pup.

The winners were judged by a panel of independent judges from within Queensland’s gay and leather community.
