The Empire strikes back
Emperor Steele and Lord Littlemore, better known as Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore from Australian electronica creation Empire of the Sun, are back with their pop cannons blazing. After a nearly three-year hiatus, the internationally renowned multi ARIA and BRIT award-winning duo are set to release a brand new and highly anticipated album this June.
Titled Ice On The Dune, their second album continues the wild and visual musical creation the band started back in 2008, of a fictitious alternate reality and where good battle evil in neon and fur.
Following the release of their first album, Walking On A Dream, Empire quickly gained notriety, locally and internationally, for their lavish theatrical shows, their potent visual music videos (which have racked up tens of millions of YouTube views) and, of course, their unique sound. The album spawned five hit singles; We Are The People, Walking On A Dream, Standing on the Shore, Without You and Half-Mast.
Following intense touring, the two took a break to work on their other music projects, and there were rumours that Empire of the Sun were no more.
Naturally news of the new Empire album makes it highly anticipated. And to show the world they mean business, the duo have released a rather epic trailer that is much like a short film, called Discovery.
