Ariana Grande Blasts Donald Trump Over Anti-Trans TikTok Using Her Music

Ariana Grande has demanded Donald Trump’s team stop using her music after one of her biggest hits appeared in an anti-transgender TikTok post.
The video, published by the Team Trump account, shows the US President walking towards a podium as Grande’s 2024 single We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love) plays.
But it’s not the first time the singer has spoken up against the US President.

Text superimposed over the clip using the Ariana Grande song reads: “Me and my truth we sit in silence… Men can’t have babies and should never compete in women’s sports.”
“This shouldn’t be controversial! #trump #arianagrande #maga,” the accompanying caption says.
Grande responded directly beneath the post, writing: “Never use my music again. Also, your truth is false.”
Ariana Grande has long been a supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community; earlier this year she launched The Brighter Days Ahead Foundation, a charitable organisation supporting vulnerable communities through direct funding to grassroots and nonprofit groups, focusing on “LGBTQ+ rights, civil rights, and reproductive justice.”
According to Variety Australia, the White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment following the incident
The video echoes the Trump administration’s wider campaign targeting transgender participation in sport. In February 2025, Trump signed an executive order directing federal agencies to withdraw funding from education programs that allow transgender women and girls to participate in female sporting categories. Donald Trump has previously used the announcement of his proposed Patriot Games to mock transgender athletes.
“I promise there will be no men playing in women’s sports, you’re not gonna see that. You’ll see everything but that,” Trump said at the time.
More recently, the Trump administration has been making moves to place LGBTQIA+ content warning on queer television programs as well as many other measures targeting the community.
Grande’s response marks the second time in two months she has objected to the administration pairing its political messaging with her music.
In June, the White House used her song Bye in footage depicting Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers arresting and handcuffing people.
“Please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense. Fck ice,” Grande wrote.
Her team subsequently had the sound removed from the offending clip.
