Thorpe’s dax take off
Super athlete, style-meister, jewellery designer and now underwear designer -¦ is there anything Ian Thorpe can’t do? The man himself launched his new underwear range IT at David Jones city store yesterday, sporting a new Beckham-blonde colour in his hair.
This is the first time that Ian has ventured into clothing design, and the underwear range reflects the quality and styling delivered by Ian in, and out of, the pool, gushed Thorpe’s manager, David Flaskas, while a spokesperson for manufacturers Mitch Dowd said: Ian pushed construction techniques, fabrication and styling to a new level.
It was exciting, Thorpe said to someone who wrote a press release, because while what we were doing design-wise was unique and cutting edge, the ultimate test was the wearing of the garments -“ and I’m confident in saying that the range certainly delivers.
