A crush on David Archuleta

A crush on David Archuleta

David Archuleta may have scored the runner-up position on the seventh season of American Idol but the sweetie-pie is springing back from the karaoke contest with a new killer tune Crush.

The Australian release date is yet to be confirmed but the track is stirring up the sound waves in the US and is currently in second position on the Billboard charts.

Archuleta is a combination of a more masculine-sound-ing version of Anthony Callea and Jesse McCartney’s sex appeal -“ the teen queens and twinks seem to love him.

Crush is a likeable song with an incredible chorus that heightens his strong pop-rock vocal ability. Make sure you check him out on YouTube or iTunes.

  1. Perhaps the article got the sentence mixed up? They’re quite different voices, but compared to Anthony David’s is definitely less masculine. David’s still has something of the ‘treble’, where Anthony’s is a more developed man’s voice. David’s young and has a lovely sweet tone but at the moment, as one would expect, his musicianship is way below Anthony’s. His improvisations often totally miss the mark and he doesn’t have Anthony’s control, clean placement or phrasing or the big lush deep tones. He will be a wonderful performer and I’m not trying to set them in competition, but Anthony’s is definitely the more masculine voice.

  2. Sammy had Anthony had the opportunity to release The Prayer on the US Billboard charts with the same exposure that David had on US Idol I have no doubt at all he would have done the same.
Debuting at No.1 in Australia and holding that position for 5 weeks straight and becoming the highest selling single in Australia is nothing to sneeze at.
I only wish the Australian record labels would promote our own talent overseas like they do for Overseas artists in Australia.
Anyway the two should not be compared, they are both very talented, David is still very young and Anthony has an amazing voice.

  4. of course. But what I meant was the same people have bought the song, which is quite the pointless thing to do, but they can do what they want with their money, I don’t care. I’m just saying one person is buying at least 10 copies of the song each!

  5. He only got that far because his fans bought multiple copies of the song. And it didnt take long for it to slip to #35, because no one else is buying it.

  6. Heather you have to be joking… David is far superior and more talented than Anthony Callea. There is a reason why he debut at 2 on the American Billboard Charts, which is something that Anthony could never do!

  7. To compare David A to Australia’s Anthony Callea in any way is just a joke.
He’s a sweetie pie no doubt, but has a long way to go to reach Anthony’s level.
