Jewish history on display

As part of its 10-year anniversary celebrations, Sydney’s Jewish GLBT group Dayenu has launched a new ‘Archives’ section on its website.
The section collates over 120 Dayenu-related newspaper articles dating back to the group’s inception in 2000 — and even further back to 1998 — with existing photo and video material.
The articles included have been reproduced from a wide variety of sources, including Australian Jewish News, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Australian, The Jerusalem Post and even Sydney Star Observer. Together, they trace the evolution of Dayenu and the wider Jewish GLBT movement in Sydney and Australia, and cover important topics such as the controversy surrounding the organisation’s first float in Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade in 2000.
If members of the public have newspaper articles, photos or videos they would like to have included in the online archive, they can send them to [email protected]. The archive is viewable at www.dayenu.org.au/archives.htm
