Batwoman wedding cancelled
The editorial team at DC comics have called it quits in response to the company’s refusal to allow Batwoman (Kate Kane) to marry her secret girlfriend Maggie Sawyer.
Writer J.H Williams III said in a public statement that the decision “was never put to us as being anti-gay marriage,” but the wedding, which was planned over a year ago by DC comic writers, was changed by DC management at the last minute.
Batwoman was first reintroduced as a lesbian by DC comics in 2006.
