Tranny-saurus greeting card taken from shelves
A card depicting a Tyrannosaurus Rex wearing a pink wig, pink lipstick and a pink handbag has been pulled from the shovels of American Walmart-owned supermarket chain ASDA after it was deemed offensive to the transgender community.
On the card a caveman was depicted exclaiming ‘Oh Look! A Tranny-saurus!’, which has provoked criticism for the use of the derogatory term.
The card was found and shared on social media which then lead to the removal of the card from the store. A public apology was demanded when the card was removed from the store. While the company did not apologise on their website, an ASDA spokesman issued the following statement after announcing the card had been pulled from all stores:
“We want to reassure that we have a commitment to LGBT and never wanted to cause offence with the card.”
