Shigella health warning
Shigella is a gut infection that can be easily passed on sexually or through contaminated food and water. Transmission occurs when even microscopic amounts of infected shit get into the mouth from fingers, rimming, fucking, or handling used sex toys.
Symptoms can include diarrhoea, stomach cramps, nausea and fever. These can show up within several hours of exposure and can be severe — particularly in guys who are HIV positive. Treatment is with antibiotics.
The most effective way to prevent infection is to use gloves for arseplay and to always wash your hands with soap and water after handling used condoms, toys or after sex — especially if it involves arse play.

Support the Star Observer… while you still can
LGBTQIA+ media is under threat. Queer content is censored by tech conglomerates who amplify bigotry and push out AI slop — so we receive less financial support than ever.
When our community is muzzled and intolerance intensifies, we need queer media more than ever. Your donation means we can continue paying queer journalists to write queer news.
Don’t rely on the straight lies of big tech – support Star Observer instead and donate now.
