Aurora Grants Program seeks applicants by Nov 4

Having celebrated 20 years of giving generously earlier this year, the Aurora Group has opened up applications for their 2019-20 grants program.

“Aurora has a proud history of funding smaller community LGBTIQ charities that otherwise struggle to find funding, and so we are very excited to see what projects the community are planning for next year,” Aurora co-chair Sam Turner said.

“Over the years we have seen applications from many diverse corners of our community, so the board will no doubt have their work cut out for them assessing this year’s applications,” Co-chair James Skelton added.

Applications must be made by November 4 for funding grants of up to $7,500 for organisations that are committed to supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and/or queer and gender diverse communities.

Aurora provides grants to both LGBTQI specific organisations and to generalist organisations seeking funding for projects specifically targeted to or supporting LGBTQI people.

Aurora is seeking projects that have a focus on supporting LGBTIQ youth, older, culturally and linguistically diverse communities and those from rural and remote NSW.

Aurora is also partnering with Westpac Group to offer a Special Grant worth $10,000 over two years.

Organisations interested in applying should visit www.auroragroup.com.au where they will find a range of resources to help them craft their applications and the 2019-2020 Aurora Small Grants Application Form.

With the help of its donors, Aurora raises money through its regular giving program and through its annual gala Aurora Ball and other events throughout the year.

The Aurora Group has awarded more than a million dollars in grants since being founded in 1999.

Aurora is funded entirely through donations which it receives via www.givenow.com.au/auroragivingprogram
