Buy a body part for a good cause

Richard Kentwell has started auctioning off his body parts, all in the name of fitness and charity.
In the lead up to the City2Surf, Richard Kentwell has started an eBay auction to sell advertising space on his body while he runs the 14km race on August 10.

Kentwell had initially planned to sell individual spaces on his body to a range of advertisers but as a result of eBay logistics has decided to sell all available space on his running clothes to one lucky bidder. The process began at 8am on Wednesday and Kentwell is hoping to see some competitive price hopping over the next seven days that will culminate in a large cheque being donated to the Variety charity group which raises money for sick children.

We couldn’t work out how to do the individual body parts because it would mean we would have to run a whole lot of auctions at once, so now the entire package will go to just one lucky sponsor. It would have been more amusing to have people bidding on my ass but it was a logistical nightmare, Kentwell said.

The response so far hasn’t been too promising but I’m hoping that it will pick up now the auction is up and running. I know that there are a lot of people running and getting involved with various groups, like the BGF team -” so there are a lot of people asking for money out there, but this really is a worthwhile cause that I believe in.
