Huge in her native US since winning American Idol in 2005, country-pop charmer Carrie Underwood is now launching an Antipodean assault with this deluxe, two-disc edition of her third album (the bonus seven-track disc collects all the hits from her previous albums). Play On is an undoubtedly polished collection of commercial country that should appeal to fans of Shania Twain and Taylor Swift — but if you like your country with a bit of grit (or you can’t stomach songs with titles like Jesus Take The Wheel), you should probably look elsewhere.
