Beyoncé might be on a brief hiatus from the music scene while she accompanies husband Jay Z on his world tour with U2, but fans haven’t forgotten about Sasha Fierce.

The diva’s I Am… World Tour DVD has been named the best selling music DVD of 2010 in America — quite an achievement when you consider it was only released at the end of November. It has already gone double platinum, selling 132,000 copies in the US alone.

That pushed the DVD ahead of Rush’s Beyond The Lighted Stage and Michael Jackson’s Live In Bucharest: The Dangerous Tour for top honours.

Beyonce’s DVD attracted a lot of online attention for the innovative format, which included footage from different shows around the world, a documentary and a booklet of exclusive photos.
