Douglas and Damon get romantic

Two Hollywood heavyweights are set to play gay lovers in a new biopic about showy pianist and entertainer Liberace.

The film, to be directed by Academy award winner Steven Soderbergh, will star Michael Douglas as the flamboyant entertainer, while Matt Damon has signed on to play his love interest.

Both actors are looking forward to the project, particularly their first gay screen kiss.

“I never thought I would get to kiss Michael Douglas!” Damon told E!

Douglas, who is in remission from throat cancer, is just as enthusiatic.

“I saw Matt and I was teasing him,” he told reporters. “I was saying, ‘bring a lot of ChapStick, babe.'”

Soderbergh has announced that the project will be his last – he is retiring from moviemaking after its completion.
