Ryan Reynolds on gay marriage: “We should be taking it for granted, like regular marriage”

IN a recent interview with HuffPost Live while promoting his new thriller film Self/less, Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds has spoken out in support of same sex marriage after he was asked about the following tweet in relation to Americans “defecting to Canada to escape gay marriage” after the SCOTUS ruling:

When asked by interviewer Alyona Minkovski if he opposed marriage equality, Reynolds answered: “No. I’m not a monster. I think it’s fantastic. It’s been legal in Canada for 10 years now. To me [the opposition] just seems crazy.”

He further stated that “we shouldn’t be in a state of awe and celebration for it”.

“[Gay marriage] seems very humane, it just seems very, like a given… We should be taking it for granted like regular marriage at this point.”
