With the hype surrounding Britney and Lady Gaga’s upcoming chart battle, it’s easy to forget that Taylor Swift is arguably a bigger pop star than either of them – at least in her native America.

Kanye’s nemesis is on a chart tear at the moment.

Her latest album Speak Now is currently number 1 in the US and has gone triple platinum in 11 weeks.

Britney’s last album sold less than half that, while it took Gaga two years to pass the three million mark.

So what’s a country girl to do when the world is getting carried away with her less successful rivals?

The answer, it seems, is quitely release the second single from your album and its accompanying video.

Back To December is a fairly typical ballad from Taylor – with the only real difference being that she’s singing from a ‘bad’ girl’s perspective this time.

To convey her new edgy persona, the Grammy winner called in Yoann Lemoine.

He directed Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream video and knows his way around teen angst better than most.

The finished result is beautiful filmed and plays like a mini soap opera.
