The Juliettes are happy you’re gay
Seattle-based “pump rockers” The Juliettes have released a new single to raise money for It Gets Better and the organisations they support.
The cheerfully titled Hooray, You’re Gay is a loud and proud GLBT anthem that spouts the following philosophy on homosexuality: “It isn’t hurting marriage, it isn’t hurting kids, it isn’t like it’s sinful, don’t know why anyone would think it is.”
It’s a message the band wants to share with as many people as possible.
“We want the song to inspire celebration and improve the discourse – it’s not just okay to be gay,” says lead singer Julie Mains. “It’s freaking fabulous!”
“I want people to hear it, and then buy it, and then tell ten friends”.
The proceeds from Hooray, You’re Gay will go to organisations that provide community and advocacy support to GLBT teens.
