The return of Sam Sparro

Australia’s favourite gay pop star has returned with a perplexing new song and video.

Sam Sparro wormed his way into the hearts and iPod’s of music fans around the globe with his radio friendly debut single Black and Gold.

Just don’t expect more of the same.

His new single Pink Cloud is a homage to 90s house music and doesn’t even feature Sam on vocals.

The singer describes the song as “as a tribute to artists I loved artists like Masters at Work, Black Box, Maurice Fulton and Todd Terry.”

“The song is a tribute to the house music I grew up with,” he continues.

“It’s the first time I’ve released a single where I’m not the featured vocalist.”

The video (below) is similarly brave featuring a selection of outfits that would make Leigh Bowery green with envy.

What do you make of the pop star’s daring new sound?

Pink Cloud is being offered as a free download from Sam’s Official Website.
