WATCH: Frank Ocean’s first TV performance

Newly out and proud Frank Ocean made his television debut on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Monday to help publicise the release of his highly anticipated album, Channel Orange.

Ocean performed a soulful rendition of Bad Religion, which is the song that reportedly influenced his coming out post last week.

The rising R&B singer-songwriter made headlines last week, revealing in an emotional Tumblr post that his first love was a man.

“I was 19 years old. He was too. We spent that summer, and the summer after, together. Everyday almost. And on the days we were together, time would glide,” Ocean wrote, going on to say that he was devastated when his feelings were not reciprocated, but that he now feels like “a free man”.

Rumours about the 24-year-old US singer’s sexuality had surfaced as early reviewers of his album noted that several love songs on the record referenced a ‘he’ rather than a ‘she’.
