Xtina strikes back

Xtina strikes back

It’s been a tough 12 months for Christina Aguilera, with disappointing album sales and a critically panned film debut – but she’s finally struck gold with The Voice.

The first episode of her reality talent show attracted 11.8 million viewers in the US, making it the top-rated series premiere in 2011.

To draw a comparison, American Idol drew less than 10 million viewers when it debuted in 2002.

The Voice is based on a Dutch reality show and differentiates itself from out singing contests by holding blind auditions where judges can not see the participants.

Xtina is joined on the judging panel by Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, F*#k You singer Cee-Lo Green and country singer Blake Shelton.
