Christian Wilkins And Mitch Churi To Compete As Gay Rivals On Australian Survivor

Two popular Australian gay media personalities are swapping the red carpet for the jungle, with Christian Wilkins and Mitch Churi announced for Australian Survivor: Rivals.
Wilkins, 31, and Churi, 30, will face off as one of 12 matched rival pairings when the reality juggernaut returns to Network 10 in 2027.
But can the take home the top prize?
Australian Survivor Returns
Model, actor and television personality Christian Wilkins has made quite a name for himself in recent years. The son of television personality Richard Wilkins regularly challenges gender norms through his fearless red carpet fashion choices that have often made headlines around the country.
Radio host, podcaster and comedian Mitch Churi has forged a career for himself in the media after making a name for himself in radio first. The former KIIS Network presenter was let go from the network last year and now hosts The Mitch Churi Chat Show, where he interviews some of the biggest names in film, television and music.

Their pairing promises plenty of fabulous personality to the lineup which features many well-known names. Network 10 says the world-first Rivals format will divide 24 castaways between two tribes, with each contestant matched against somebody possessing similar strengths, experience, physicality, intelligence, drive or charisma.
The competitors recently filmed in Malaysia, another change for the long running franchise, with Australian Survivor champion David Genat returning as host for his second season.
Other confirmed match-ups include former AFL players Adam Cooney and Heath Shaw, twins Alisa and Lysandra Fraser, Olympians Kerri Pottharst and Danielle Scott, actors Bernard Curry and Lincoln Lewis, rugby stars Adam Ashley-Cooper and Robbie Farah, and athletes Sharni Layton and Sarah Yatim.
The remaining cast includes Adam Ashley-Cooper, Adam Cooney, Alisa Fraser, Bernard Curry, Danielle Scott, Ellie Gonsalves, Emily Jones, Eva Bantin, Heath Shaw, Jorden Tually, Josh Robinson, Kaitlyn Souksamlane-Tan, Kate Allan, Kerri Pottharst, Lincoln Lewis, Louie Liu, Lysandra Fraser, Portia Ferdinand, Robbie Farah, Sarah Yatim, Sharni Layton and Yusuf Omar.
Australian Survivor has developed a growing history of LGBTQIA+ representation. Previously, this included three time player George Mladenov publicly coming out as gay and non-binary contestant Phil Ferguson becoming the first person eliminated from Brains V Brawn.
In 2025, bisexual contestant Myles Kuah became Australian Survivor’s first openly queer winner. Later that year, Parvati Shallow became the franchise’s first openly queer female winner after dominating Australia V The World.
Whether Wilkins or Churi can follow them into the winner’s circle remains to be seen.
First, the two friends and media heavyweights will have to outwit, outplay and outlast each other in a showdown set to deliver camp drama, strategy and fabulous television.
Australian Survivor: Rivals will air on Network 10 and 10 Play in 2027.
