“Chucky Protects The Dolls”, Says The Slasher Villain’s Creator, Don Mancini

Don Mancini, creator of the slasher horror franchise Child’s Play and its iconic villain, “Chucky”, says the serial-killer-possessed doll is a trans rights advocate, actually.

“Chucky has a trans kid,”  the gay writer and director of the franchise wrote on X. “Chucky protects the dolls. Chucky is anti-ICE. Chucky says “A BLUE WAVE is coming, as BLUE as my fuckin’ eyes!” 

Community Responds To Woke Chucky

The post was met with a profusion of quips and GIFs in the comments, with some users lauding Mancini’s decision to speak up for LGBTQ+ rights, and others simply appreciating the meme of it all.

“It’s funny and sad at the same time when a fictional doll that’s possessed by the soul of a serial killer has a better moral compass than the @Republicans,” one user wrote.

“Always knew my goat was on the right side of history,” wrote another.

Anti-Trump Chucky Coincides With “Blue Wave” Over U.S.

The revelation of Chucky’s leftward political leanings comes as the U.S. recorded a massive swing to blue during the November 2026 midterm elections, with the Democrats flipping seven Republican seats, including Texas, South Carolina, and Kansas, which had been Republican strongholds for decades. 

The election also saw the first openly gay man elected to the Senate, the first openly trans member of Congress reelected for a second term, and a record number of openly LGBTQIA+ people elected to represent the U.S on Capitol Hill.  

Preceding the elections, Trump had spent months asking American voters to treat the midterms as a referendum on his presidency. 

“Pretend I’m on the ballot,” he told supporters. 

Well, in that referendum, about half of voters surveyed in national exit polling said they saw the election as a chance to rebuke him, and seven in ten said they wanted Congress to put more checks on the president.
