Try-outs for the Sydney Roller Derby League (SRDL) will begin in August. Skaters must first participate in a mandatory skills clinic on Sunday, August 23 followed by a trial on Sunday 30.

Players selected from the two sessions will be eligible to take part in the Newcastle Roller Derby before the Sydney league resumes in November.

SRDL is extremely proud and happy to have it’s first season under it’s belt and is looking forward to new skaters joining with the try-outs next month and a Freshmeat program will be announced later in the year, SRDL’s vice president Miss Biff said.

Roller Derby will continue to grow here in Sydney and we are looking forward to bringing some other leagues over for challenge bouts in the not too distant future.

SRDL is currently holding three training sessions each week for members to improve skating skills and general fitness. The club is also looking for a permanent home for the league.
