LGBTI directory launched

LGBTI directory launched

The Queensland Association for Healthy Communities has launched an online directory of the state’s LGBTI groups and services.

The directory is an initiative of the LGBTI Roundtable which identified the need to increase community access to LGBTI-specific groups and services.

The Roundtable was established by the Bligh Government in 2010 and meets in Brisbane three times a year. It also conducts monthly teleconferences.

Data for the directory was developed through a 201 community mapping project.

Listed groups can update their own information as changes happen and new groups or services can add their details to the directory.

The directory will be promoted to LGBTI people and groups as well as mainstream services via online advertising and promotional items to be distributed at events.
