Magda Szubanski Makes Hilarious Logies Return With Robert Irwin
Magda Szubanski has once again brought a smile to everyone’s faces after making a very unexpected return to television last night.
The beloved television icon returned in character as Sharon Strzelecki.
However this time she wasn’t accepting an award, she was presenting one.
Magda Szubanski returns with Robert Irwin
While Robert Irwin was already bringing some of his own comedy to the new hosting gig at the 2026 Logie Awards, landing the perfect zingers on Karl Stefanovic and Dave Hughes, he was no match for Magda Szubanski.
The youngest Irwin, who kept his clothes on this time, introduced the comedy icon to the stage to assist him with presentation duties for the Gold Logie, owing to being nominated himself, so he couldn’t do the announcement.
Instead Irwin welcomed “the newest member of the Australia Zoo team.”
As Magda appeared on stage the visibly shocked crowd rose to their feet as they cheered for the Aussie icon.
In what must have been a nod to her own health woes Magda appeared in the Australia Zoo uniform, adorned with her arm in a sling, an eye patch and several fake cuts and bruises, in true Sharon Strzelecki style.
“I’m not crying I’ve got something in my eye” she said as Robert asked her about her first day on the job.
“Totally fine” she replied as the crowd laughed on as the two bantered.
When it came time to explain her job for the night Robert explained that he couldn’t announce it in case he won.
“Like, do you really think that’s gonna happen, Robert?” she quipped back.
As Sharon attempted to explain she couldn’t stay on to assist with her duties, Robert pleaded, putting on his best Kath & Kim “look at moi” voice as the audience laughed on.
After she eventually relented and took her place behind the microphone the continued to steal the spotlight as she hilariously mispronounced the names of the nominees, before ultimately announcing Sam Pang as the winner.

Fans online were thrilled to have the TV star return following her recent health battles.
Following the news that she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer earlier this last year, Magda was inducted into the Logies Hall Of Fame delivering a touching speech that brought everyone to tears.
However thankfully earlier this year the television icon announced that her cancer is in remission.
Good on Magda for her role at the end of the Logies tonight! Despite having cancer she was funny & brave!

Cried through too much of the Logies tonight. From ACP to Sam Neil to Deb Mailman and then the pure joy of seeing Magda back. Sure it wasn’t pure slick but it had heart
