Charity benefits from award

A regional Victorian power company employee has donated her prize money to the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation (BGF).

Clare Anderson, a Bendigo customer contact centre manager, donated $1500 to the charity after receiving a Spirit of Excellence employee award at Powercor Australia.

Anderson was rewarded for her outstanding contribution to the company, customers and her local community.

The awards stipulate winners must donate their money to a charity or community group of choice.
Anderson said she was grateful for the opportunity to donate to BGF.

I chose to donate to the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation as they are an organisation that changes people’s lives on a daily basis, she said.

BGF CEO Bev Lange welcomed the donation, saying it will make a worthwhile contribution to the clients BGF assists.

If you want to equate this donation to the impact that it can have, Ms Anderson’s $1500 gift will pay for one month’s supply of essential HIV medications for 100 of our clients, she said.
