Funds for Queer Screen

Liberal Duty MLC for Sydney Don Harwin announced $15,000 in state Government funding for the 2012 Mardi Gras Film Festival and associated satellite events.

“Queer Screen has received an important project grant under the 2012 Arts Funding Program,” Harwin said.

“This funding has been made available for the organisation and running of the annual Mardi Gras Film Festival.

“I congratulate Queer Screen on the wonderful work it does each year in putting together such a great program of feature-length movies and short films and am pleased that the O’Farrell Government has provided funding towards another successful festival in 2012.”

The 2012 Arts Funding Program will go towards improving infrastructure and facilities for artists and community arts organisations.

“The … Program is worth more than $58 million in total and the NSW Government has already announced funding for regional conservatoriums and regional performing arts touring projects as part of the 2012 program,” Harwin said.

“I look forward to the O’Farrell Government’s continuing support for the arts with the funding of worthwhile projects and events such as this grant to Queer Screen.”
