Mardi Gras seeks volunteers
New Mardi Gras (NMG) is calling for volunteers to assist in the running and organising of events for the 2011 Mardi Gras season.
NMG is seeking applications from people with the appropriate skills to help make the Mardi Gras Parade, parties, Fair Day and festival events possible.
Vacancies are open for the Parade Working Group which comprises teams responsible for the areas of operations, logistics, entrant operations, stage management, parade route area, creative and community, media and communications, and volunteer workforce.
The Volunteer Working Group — made up of a services and recruitment team, a learning and development team, and an event volunteer coordination team — is also seeking applicants for youth coordinator and recruitment coordinator roles, and multiple event volunteer coordinator positions.

Other Parade roles will be advertised after the Parade Working Group is established, while opportunities to join the Party Working Group will be advertised in the weeks to come.
