New gay TV station

new Australian gay satellite television station GaySat.tv will soon be on the air.

GaySat.tv this week turned the satellite signal on, so it’s only a matter of days now and we’ll be up and live and taking subscribers, GaySat.tv’s CEO Lindsay Probin said.

He said the station would appeal to a broad section of the gay community.

GaySat.tv is a gay lifestyle service with gay-produced and themed TV and movies, community broadcasts and its own special productions from events at home and around the world.
Subscribers would also get access to a radio streaming service. The station has committed to a second channel by April 2009.

  1. Interestingly, all attempts to establish a gay and lesbian radio station in Sydney have eventually failed.
JOY FM (Melbourne) has been one of the world’s gay and lesbian broadcasting success stories.
Queerhunt Radio (www.QueerhuntRadio.com) broadcasts from studio’s in Melbourne and Perth, with a Sydney presence at Sydney Teleport.
Queerhunt Radio is the first gay and lesbian radio station in the Southern Hemisphere to broadcast on satellite, and the first to broadcast across the whole of the Australian continent and New Zealand. It can also be heard web streaming across the world.

  2. Why doesnt Sydney have a gay station?,Arnt we the gayest capital of Australia?,I guess that would be too much trouble I mean we are very selfish/self absorbed community and plus our Oxford st is in ruins anyway.
