One week left to nominate for Honour Awards

ACON’s annual gala fundraising event, the Honour Awards, are open for nominations. The SGLBA is proud to support the Honour Awards, and encourages members of the LGBTQI community to nominate people and organisations in the business category.

These annual community awards are an opportunity for community members to nominate those whose work or achievements deserve to be recognised.  Nominations can be submitted in six categories covering the business, health, education, community, legal, political, media and cultural sectors.

SGLBA president Paul Lee-Maynard said the Honour Awards give the public a chance to pay tribute to those making a difference through business.

“There’s an array of LGBTQI individuals, business owners and companies achieving great things in the community and in professional spheres.  This is our chance to honour them, and recognise their work. We’re keen to see these people and businesses nominated for this year’s awards,” he said.

The SGLBA joins the Sydney Star Observer, Foxtel, Merivale and 360 Management in supporting ACON’s 2011 Honour Awards.

Nominations are free and can be submitted on the Honour website at www.honourawards.com.au by August 31. This year’s awards will be presented at a gala ceremony and cocktail party at The Ivy in Sydney on Thursday, September 29.
