Pollys keeps on giving
The Pollys Club celebrated its 46th birthday at UNSW’s Roundhouse on Saturday — but instead of receiving gifts it was giving them away.
The organisation gave away $15,000 at the Heavenly Creatures dance, just after an amazing 45-minute drag show of epic proportions.
Pollys Club producer Miss Lulu described the evening as “a huge success”.
“I’m so proud of the Pollys. The show went brilliantly and we received a standing ovation. It was very emotional.”
The 550-odd guests were treated to 15 different musical numbers including interpretations of Cher’s Believe, Kylie’s Made In Heaven and Madonna’s Like A Prayer, followed by a full-cast performance of Beyonce’s Halo.

Support the Star Observer… while you still can
LGBTQIA+ media is under threat. Queer content is censored by tech conglomerates who amplify bigotry and push out AI slop — so we receive less financial support than ever.
When our community is muzzled and intolerance intensifies, we need queer media more than ever. Your donation means we can continue paying queer journalists to write queer news.
Don’t rely on the straight lies of big tech – support Star Observer instead and donate now.
