Pride bakes a large slice of profit in food frenzy

Pride March Victoria reaped the rewards of Melbourne’s food frenzy on the weekend, raising over $8500 at the Great Aussie Bake-Off fundraiser.
The Bake-Off has seen a few hungry years recently as the event has moved to different locations — last year’s bake-fest only raised around $2000.
Pride March Victoria president Brett Hayhoe is delighted with the result and said settling the Bake-Off back in its usual residence at DT’s Hotel in Richmond has paid off.
“This year’s event took us back to past years where the whole community came out in force to support Pride March,” he said.
“The organisation relies on sponsorship and money raised at functions like this to continue operating.
“This boost will certainly help with plans for the 2010 march… I am so pleased the community is behind us and wants to see the work of the organisation continue.”
Pride March 2010 will be held on Fitzroy St, St Kilda on February 7.
