*UPDATE:  A memorial service will be held for Addam Stobbs at 2.30pm Thursday June 24 at Springvale Botanical Cemetery, Springvale.*

Southern Star understands long-time JOY94.9 presenter and JOY board member Addam Stobbs died suddenly last night.

JOY president Stephen Duns said the news has been greeted with “great shock” at the station.

Stobbs was a proud member of the community and presented JOY’s longest-running program, Allegro Non Troppo, for 14 years.

A member of the station since 1994, Stobbs was also a board member of the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA).

A tribute to Stobbs will be broadcast tomorrow on Doug Pollard’s program Freshly Doug from 9am – noon.

  1. Addam, we crossed each other’s path on many occasions and we often had a good laugh. Time flies so quickly since the days we first met at Society Five. Rest in peace in the full knowledge that you did more than your bit for the gay and lesbian movement. To Yoda and Addam’s birth family, my sympathies on the loss of Addam.
