Sydney’s Outfielders took part in the 2010 Queensland Corporate Games on May 16, playing under the representation of the Rainbow Tourism Assassins.
While the Outfielders team was down one player all day, they softballers managed to beat the odds and convincingly win games against the Queensland Government Bandits and SEQwater Hard Water, later tying against the G James Glass Aluminators and landing a place in the final against the Queensland Government team Son Of A Pitch.
The final game was a tough, drawn-out battle played well into the evening, with the Outfielders and the QLD Government team eventually landing on an 11-11 tie. Both teams accepted the draw for first place, meaning that in their third year of competition at the games, the Outfielders took out a gold medal – their best result yet.
