Organisers of next year’s Asia Pacific Outgames in Wellington, New Zealand have announced that online registrations will open on June 12. The launch of registrations will be marked on both sides of the Tasman, with events planned for Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne and Brisbane.
According to Outgames co-chair Virginia Hopkins-Burns, international interest in the event is building.
“Over 25 swimmers from the Sydney club, Wett Ones, have already indicated their interest. With partners, friends and supporters, that’s likely to mean 40 or 50 people will come to the Outgames just from that one club alone,” she said.
Melbourne swim club Glamourheads will also celebrate their 10th anniversary while they’re at the games.
Outgames will consist of a week of competition in 16 sports, a human rights conference, visual and performing arts events, and parties, to be held between March 12-19 2011. It is expected to attract more than 1000 participants from throughout New Zealand, Australia, Asia, and the Pacific Islands.

info: Registrations will be taken on the official website, Those interested in participating will be able to register for sports events and the conference.
