Rangers make impressive start

Just four games into the winter season and the Rangers Football Club are proving that sexuality has nothing to do with how well you play football.

The team was moved up two divisions in their competition this season after coming runners-up at last year’s finals.

We were only put up one division at first but we appealed that decision to be put up to division six.

While we have the support of the club I think there are some people who don’t think we’re good enough, so we want to prove they’re wrong, Rangers president Gavin Ward told Sydney Star Observer.

Having won two of three games played so far, and tying in the other, the Rangers are showing they have the ball skills that count.

From what I’ve seen we’re on top of the ladder so far and we’ve beaten one of the top teams. No one was expecting us to do that. We’re shaping up well, Ward said.

In June almost half the Rangers will go to Washington, DC to take part in the World Cup of gay soccer, leaving fewer players to rely on back home.

People in the team have realised we’re going to have to work harder this season and they’re doing that because we want to prove just how much we deserve to be here, Ward said.
