South Australian Mark Stephens (pictured) took out the Mr Leather Australia/New Zealand title over the weekend.

The competition was held as part of Melbourne Leather Pride which is currently underway.

Stephens won out over five other contenders for the prize including contestants from Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland, New South Wales and New Zealand.

MLP festival director Alex Schoeffel said although numbers were down on previous years, the event went well and competition was strong.

“There were lots of strong contestants this year, some years there’s a big gap between scoring, but this year it was very close.”

MLP runs until April 26.
