Nomads warm up winter

Nomads warm up winter

The Nomads, a group of more than 100 men from around Victoria who meet to participate in outdoor activities, have released their winter calender of outings. Events in the chillier months include a city lanes, alleys and arcades walk, a winter solstice dinner, five days skiing at Falls Creek and numerous walks and social nights.

This Sunday, June 19, the boys set off for their Buckley Falls Geelong Walk which takes them along the north bank of the river to Queens Park to the old bluestone paper mill, the falls and rapids, plus Baum Weir.

The group has also started a Friday event for members and keen cyclists. You can join a small group of Nomads for a leisurely cycle on tracks and trails around metropolitan Melbourne each week.

If you’d like to join the group but aren’t sure if your bike fitness level will match, the group will design a route that can be shortened or extended to suit your needs. Emphasis is on the social aspect, not on breaking world speed records.
