Spikers slam on home turf
The Melbourne Spikers gay and lesbian volleyball club hosted a very successful Summer Slam in Kew, Melbourne this past weekend, taking out A Division Gold on home turf with Sydney’s Kaiata team being awarded Silver.
The Sydney Freezoners B Division team rose to the occasion and then some, giving the A Division a real fright and playing well beyond their expectations.
Interstate rivalries were then put aside for a presentation and dinner at the nearby Fox Hotel. Attention now turns to the fortchoming Winter Whack tournament, where Sydney and Melbourne’s gay and lesbian volleyball teams will once again battle it out on the courts.
