Tennis comp to be Master Series

Tennis Sydney has announced the Australasian Gay & Lesbian Open (AGLO) 2013 has been sanctioned by the Gay & Lesbian Tennis Alliance (GLTA) as one of only five Master Series Tournaments on the 2013 calendar.

“To be awarded a Master Series Tournament, standing out of close to seventy tournaments on the GLTA calendar worldwide, is a huge honour for Tennis Sydney, our members and for GLBTI tennis in the region,” said Tennis Sydney tournament director Dean Matterson.

“All players will receive double points towards the GLTA Champions Race and the tournament receives increased promotion through the GLTA worldwide network.”

The Sydney event joins tournaments in Chicago and Munich as a Master Series, with the GLTA to announce the final two cities shortly.

AGLO will be held at Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre from February 15-17, 2013. Entry is now open with early bird pricing available until November 30.
