Tributes have been posted on social media as news broke Sunday morning Australian time of the death of Zaine (Mark) Fierce, the performer behind Sydney’s much loved Drag Queen Sascha Fierce/Beyonce G Spot.

Zaine left Sydney in 2009 to move to Germany with his partner Roland, and continued his work as a DJ and drag queen.

On social media, close friend and fellow performer Brett ‘Ripley Waters’ Nolan wrote:

“Zaine was such an intelligent, talented and free-willed human, and the closest thing I’ve had to a soul mate. Even though we were on opposite sides of the world, our spiritual bond always kept us close together.”

Partner Roland posted this message on his Facebook:

“Thanks to everyone for your Love and Support during this hard time. I apologise for not being able to reply to everyone personally, I tried at first but the sheer number of friends and loved ones made it impossible for me to do so. But please be assured all your love and all your messages are very much appreciated and do help me a lot. Zaine loved every single one of you, and so do I. Xoxo Roland”
