The riding spirit

For 25 years the Sydney Spokes cycling club has provided the GLBT community with an opportunity for people to let their hair down, socialise and stay on top of their fitness.
The group meets every Sunday and monthly on Saturdays. It covers all aspects of the sport for people of all ages, including road and mountain bikes. Rides are graded as to what type of bike you should have.
“Your geography of Sydney metro and areas like the Blue Mountains, Central Coast and Royal National Park, as examples, will improve immensely,” Sydney Spokes spokesman Scott Middleton said.
“Generally the rides are easy to medium level, averaging 30-40kms per ride, and coffee and lunch stops mandatory, as a great chance to chat and catch up or make new friends.
“I’m sure Spokes will continue for many years and continue to be an active and involving GLBT community providing a friendly atmosphere and a great chance to be outdoors exploring our fabulous city.”

If you’re interested in joining the club or tagging along for a ride visit the group’s website for further details.
