Harbour City Bears (HCB) SydCubz events are designed to help introduce younger guys (not just furry guys) to the gay and Bear communities. The idea is to meet likeminded fellas through social activities that take place outside of the usual bars or club scene.
HCB recognises that as much fun as boozy nights with the Bears are, it can be tough establishing a good circle of friends.
So we organise monthly movie afternoons, bowling nights, gaming events held at internet cafés and arcades, picnic and pizza days and any other activities suggested to us.
We all know being gay can be tough. Trying to establish your identity and also discover your sexuality is hard for most guys and when you’re young it can be frightening. As a 27-year-old Cub I know exactly how it can be. On coming out I realised eventually that a clubbing life wasn’t for me. It was fun at times but it left me wanting more.
So with SydCubz, we give you the opportunity to meet other young guys who, just like you, are looking to belong.
