Bats out to play at Fair Day

Fair Day is Sydney’s big gay picnic day in the park. But this year it’s going to be much more than that. The event will be taking a look back at three decades of gay life in Sydney as well as looking forward to a bright new future for the community.

Flying Bats – Sydney’s lesbian soccer club – will have a stall at this year’s Fair Day as part of Team Sydney’s sports village.

The club will be holding a hacky-sack competition, a bat bake-off, a giant soccer ball kick-about and a water fight/wet T-shirt competition.

In addition, I LOVE SOCCER T-shirts will be sold by the club at the Team Sydney sports village, as well as customised Flying Bats tattoos.

The club has more than 80 official members and at least 250 online members. It prides itself on being a club that is inclusive, friendly and fun and is always happy to hear from potential new members.

And while you are there check out the other sports represented as part of Team Sydney’s sport village. You’ll find all the clubs friendly and happy to talk to you about getting involved and getting fit and healthy.
